I wonder what bands are playing. Oh cool, The Postal Serivce. The Postal Service? The Postal Service?! They're touring? Hell yeah, I'm going. Sold out?! Shit. Oh snap, they're going to Austin. Ugh, but it's on Sunday. Tomorrow. Damn. But maybe I can still go. Nah, that's stupid. Got work tomorrow. Jacob has school. Forget it. Not gonna happen.
As I was cleaning up my desk, I came across a poem I had printed awhile back ago called I'd Pick More Daisies and after rereading it, I decided to go.
I would take more chances, I would take more trips.
After working out the logistics with the kiddos, we were off to Austin on Sunday morning. Our first stop was the Mueller Farmers Market.
The lens was smudged (thanks to Tyson) but it looks cool. Thanks Tyson.
Another accidental shot (as I was cleaning the lens) but I like it.
Ni-Haowdy fries from Fresh Off The Truck. So good!
Next stop, drinking coffee at Mozart's with the scenic Lake Austin view.
Dinner at Madam Mam's.
And then the whole reason for the trip... The Postal Service. It was awesome.
The obligatory, crappy cell phone picture.
As we were walking out of the concert, I ran into my old friend Nick who I've known since elementary school but probably haven't seen since my wedding day. The funny thing is that he was the one who introduced me to The Postal Service many years ago. Crazy.
