After 14 months of training (with multiple breaks in between due to various injuries), I got my first belt promotion! I'm officially a BJJ blue belt. Next up is purple belt which is at least two years away but that doesn't really matter to me. If I had it my way, I'd stay a white belt forever.
Each belt brings its own form of joy in the process of learning BJJ. Even for me, I think I'm beginning to learn how to learn all over again. Just enjoy each step of the process knowing you can't go back or have do-overs. If all goes well, we'll be black belts longer than any other belt!
