Andrew's first school game

Having played only recreational and club soccer, Andrew recently played in his first school game (7th grade boys). 

The biggest different between the two is the size of the kids. Andrew has been playing with Jacob's team (for the sake of convenience and the sanity of us parents) so he's usually up against bigger kids... 14 and 15 year old kids... and with the latest tournament... against 16 year old kids.

Another difference is that some of these kids don't play soccer regularly. Those kids were recruited from other sports (football, basketball) to fill out the roster so there's a big gap in skill level.

With that said, Andrew was having fun. He finally got to play with his friends. He finally got to play against kids his age and size.

His team won 4-0 and Andrew was involved in all of the goals. He scored two goals. He assisted in another. And he was fouled inside the box which resulted in a penalty kick score.
