So we finally got around to watching Boyhood, a movie that followed the life of one boy and his family over a span of 12 years. It was neat to see the actors grow up in front of your eyes in 2 hours and 45 minutes. (Yes, it was a long movie.) And then it made me think, will I be sad once all the kids leave home? I don't know. Probably? Who am I kidding, I'm sad now watching Tyson grow up. Being that he is in all likelihood our last child, every milestone is bittersweet. And yesterday, he started preschool.

Initially I was going to write a funny quip about Father's Day (how unplanned my fatherhood came to be) but as I was pondering what to write, my mind drifted and I was thinking about what being a father really meant. My dad was pretty much nonexistent in my life. I only have but a couple memories of him when I was young. When he would get home, we would wrestle and I would imitate moves I saw from watching WWF. And he would let me stay up at night to watch The Benny Hill Show with him. (Quite inappropriate for a 5 year old to watch.) But besides that, there's not much else. He never helped me with school work or gave me life advice. In fact, I don't remember seeing him that much at all. But I can't fault him for that since he was working long hours to provide for the family. It's just that I don't want to be like him. I love him and know I'm an asshole for saying this but I want to be the complete opposite of my dad.

We're counting down the days and the one thing I keep wondering is, what will baby #3 look like? Jacob and Andrew look nothing alike so will this newborn look more like one of his siblings or have a totally different look? So I turned to the internet in hopes of answering this question.

I just realized I don't watch much TV, if any, during the week. That's a good thing right? Here's a typical weekday: go to work, come home and get settled (read mail while eating a snack), play with the kids, eat dinner together, veg in front of the computer, get the kids ready to bed, read, then sleep. I could switch computer time for TV but being on the computer feels much more productive, at least I'm getting something done. It's not like I'm just sitting there, watching mindless videos of people embarrassing themselves but I do enjoy watching some Jedi A-holes.
I'm looking forward to this weekend so I can catch up on my shows.
Modern Family
How I Met Your Mother
Mad Love
Perfect Couples
Traffic Light
And I still have Netflix movies to watch.
The Town
The Social Network
Paranormal Activity 2
I'm waiting on someone to watch Paranormal Activity 2 with me since Lynn refuses to. The first one traumatized her for quite a while and there's no way I'm watching it by myself.
