Earlier that Saturday, Tyson was to play in the season's end district tournament but that morning his doubles partner told him he was sick and wouldn't be able to play. So without a partner, he would be disqualified. It was fortunate that the doubles matches were scheduled to start a couple of a hours later, which gave him time to find another partner... someone who wasn't on the team. An hour later, he got in contact with his friend (who was on the team last year) and he came to the rescue. When all was said and done, they placed third in 8th grade boys A doubles.

The boys got 3rd place but they didn't have any medals for them.
