Summer vacation (Silverthorne, CO)

Family floating down a creek.

I just can't get enough of Colorful Colorado. This was our 12th road trip to Colorado, which found us back in Silverthorne. We went rafting for the first time and did the usual outdoorsy stuff.

Our first meal in town was at Bluebird Market (food hall).

I thought this was cute.

I need this print.

We made it to Lower Blue Lake after a gnarly drive in.

We came across an abandoned house during our hike.

We made it to our destination, the waterfall.

Crossing back over the creek (trying not to get our feet wet).

Lunch at Downstairs at Eric's after our hike (Breckenridge, CO).

The sweet manager at Timeless Gallery gave Elliot and Tyson a free crystal.

This is my favorite (yet blurry) picture... her reaction after throwing a giant rock into the river. The shear joy of doing something so simple.

We made a raft out of the sticks we found during our walk.

Time to go rafting (Idaho Springs, CO).

Dillon Farmers Market.

Dillon Town Park (of course Lynn's eyes are closed 😂).

Played lots of pickleball during our time there (3 separate days) at Rainbow Park.

Hanging out at Tattered Cover, one of my favorite bookstores (Denver, CO).

Odd variation of Thai chicken yellow curry but I should've known since we were in Amarillo, TX. Curry served on a plate? 😕

Pit stop to fuel up at Slovacek's (West, TX).

List of restaurants/foods (for my sake):

  • Lucky Bird - don't get the Nashville hot chicken sandwich (my butthole paid the price)
  • Lumi Baking Co. - kouign amann was cake-like (so disappointed)
  • My Thai - meh food - none of the visible staff were Thai or even Asian
  • Qdoba - it's like Chipotle but you don't have to pay extra for the guac or queso
  • Slovacek's - a lot more kolaches options (pizza puff, cheeseburger) and Frito pie was huge and filling
