The kids were on Spring Break last week and out of all the options that were presented to them (only places in Texas), they decided on
Dinosaur Valley State Park. It's a good 4.5 hour drive nonstop which meant it was time for a road trip! There was no way we're driving there and back so we spent a couple nights in the closest city, Dallas. And the kids got to experience what it's like to go on trips with us... eat like crazy.

Moments before crossing the water. |

In search of dinosaur tracks. |
|
Hiking along a treacherous trail... or what Tyson calls "adventure trail". |
|
Our first stop. |
|
Sitting on a couch, eating some burgers (Waco, TX). |
|
One of the many art installations at NorthPark Center (Dallas, TX). |
|
That's a seriously cheesy grilled cheese sandwich (Green House Market). |
|
Just hanging out at the Dallas Farmer's Market. |
|
Chowin' down at the Dallas Farmer's Market food hall. I ♥ this place. |
|
Our second stop at Yogurtland (College Station, TX) |
List of restaurants/foods (for my sake):
Twisted Root Burger Co. - good burgers
Blatt Beer & Table - good food all around; beers on tap and full bar (drunk after one cocktail??)
Top Pot Doughnuts - everything was excellent (no need to go to Seattle anymore)
Palmieri Cafe - cornetto filled with vanilla cream was the "Best Eats Of The Trip" (acronym BEOTT)
BellaTrino's - good Neapolitan pizza
Cool Haus - awesome ice cream, you could taste the real mint in the mint chocolate chip
Green House Market - fresh food, a bit pricey though - not worth it
Nammi - Vietnamese food truck, really good but also pricey compared to what you can normally get

Everything was good! |

And I met up with my old pharmacy school classmate Carlos to train BJJ. I had to burn off some of the calories consumed on this trip. |

Add CommentWaaaaaah!!!! The kids are all so big now! I've been a little MIA from the online world and just now playing catch up on my favorite blogs! ;) I'm binge reading all your old posts...and everyone is growing up waaaay too fast. (Does that mean we're getting old....sigh.)
Anyhow, I'm totally having FOMO. We need to move back to Texas....
Your kids are gigantic too (based on your Christmas card). Come back to Texas already!
