Pumpkins and bats

It's that time again. The weather gets (relatively) colder. I can start wearing jeans without the risk of sweating in them. And most importantly, the holidays begin. My favorite time of year. First up, Halloween.

This weekend we made our annual trip to the pumpkin patch. The weather was nice in the early morning but it heated up fast by the afternoon (mid-80s). It still doesn't feel like Fall yet, damn Houston weather. (I wish I was in San Francisco.) Each kid came home with a (tiny) pumpkin... and a tree branch which Jacob called a dinosaur bone. He was more interested in digging up dirt for more bones (which were the tree roots sticking up from the ground) than looking for pumpkins.

Throughout the week we've been slowly decorating the house to get into the Halloween spirit. The kids decorated some bats which I hung off the hallway and Lynn made a bat for each of us. Two more weeks until Halloween. Next up, our costumes.

Andrew's 4 bats to Jacob's 2 bats.

Family of bats.

Baby Ty bat!
